About

Iris Chen

I am a travel writer and photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I grew up watching ferries cross Howe Sound and have been trying to work out where they were going ever since.

Field Notes is where I keep the slower stories: the market conversations, the long train rides, the afternoons that did not fit into an assignment. My work has appeared in print and online magazines, but this is the place I write for myself.

I travel mostly alone, mostly by land, and mostly with more film than sense. If you would like to say hello, or commission a piece, write to hello@irischen.example.
